reset root password (distributed privileges) (no replies)

Hi,

I have created a small cluster and have configured distributed privileges. How do I reset root password now? When I try to run mysqld_safe --skip-grant-tables I still cannot connect with a client, similar success from mysqld_safe --init-file=/tmp/password.change.sql - nothing being changed. Any hints are welcome!
